Stanley Park
Nestled along the Elbow River in southwest Calgary, Stanley Park is a local favourite for picnicking. 21 hectares in size, the park offers a variety of activities and amenities including tennis courts, walking paths, playground areas, canoe and raft access to the Elbow River, swimming and even lawn bowling.
Shouldice Park
Located in northwest Calgary, Shouldice Park is part major athletic center (Shouldice Aquatic Center and Shouldice Arena surrounding the park) and part relaxing neighbourhood park all in one. A favourite spot for paddle boating in the summer and ice skating in the winter, Bowness is one of the city's premiere picnicking places. Edworthy Park is a diverse, 169 hectare greenspace with a huge range of amenities that make it a year-round destination.
