Montreal Botanical Garden

If you live in Montreal, you deserve a break from winter! Refresh your senses at the Montreal Botanical Garden. Complete with scented passageways and shaded trails, it is one of the world’s biggest botanical gardens. It features a rich collection of 22,000 plant species and cultivars, 10 exhibition greenhouses, and 30 thematic gardens.

Halifax Public Gardens 

Winter in the Maritimes is long and cold, so spring is embraced wholeheartedly. There's no better place to welcome the season than the Halifax Public Gardens -- one of the finest surviving examples of a Victorian garden in North America. Founded by the Nova Scotia Horticultural Society in 1836, they were recognized as a National Historic Site in 1984. It is also part of Canada’s Garden Route.

Toronto Botanical Garden

Toronto  gets hit hard in the winter, so spring is celebrated in full. Toronto Botanical Garden offers themed gardens spanning nearly four acres, waiting to be explored. It is designed to educate and inspire and is located adjacent to Wilket Creek, Don Valley Ravine, and Edwards Gardens. 

VanDusen Botanical Garden

Vancouver has spring-like temperatures for a large chunk of the year, and some pretty spectacular public gardens to explore. VanDusen Botanical Garden is a stunning botanical garden in Vancouver, in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood. Located at the northwest corner of 37th Avenue and Oak Street, it is named for local lumberman and philanthropist Whitford Julian VanDusen. It is a 55-acre oasis with over 7,500 plant species and varieties from around the world.
