Burlington

Nothing says summer like hanging out at the beach. Head over to Burlington Beach and enjoy the sunny weather, cool off in the lake and relax! If you're looking for some fun activities, you can rent paddle boats or go paddle boarding!

 

Calgary

Have you ever wanted to try ziplining? Now you can and it's the perfect summer activity. Check out Canada Olympic Park for an epic ride all the way down from the ski jump tower. Plus, don't miss out on all the amazing food trucks in the city and try to check out as many as you can!

 

Edmonton

Edmonton is the best place to be in the summer! There are so many activities and fun events. For a carnival experience with lots of music, food and rides, check out K Days from July 19th to 28th. If you love food, don't miss Taste of Edmonton. Sample food from some of the best restaurants in the city. You can also explore hundreds of kilometres of trails and pathways in the city by bike, on foot or on a segway.


Hamilton

Hamilton is known for its many waterfalls, and summer is the best time to explore them. A few worth mentioning are Tew's Falls, Webster's Falls and Tiffany's Falls. Some are more difficult to get to, so plan ahead. Besides all the incredible waterfalls, Hamilton has an abundance of great hiking trails. Check out the Chedoke Trail or the Waterfront Trail for the perfect outdoor summer activity.


Kitchener

Looking for something fun to do as a family? Head over to Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort and enjoy activities such as tennis, beach volleyball and bike trails. You can also check out one of the many festivals happening in the summer including Downtown Kitchener Ribfest and Craft Beer Show. This three-day event features

delicious food, beer and cider from 16 breweries and so much more! It's on from July 19th to 21st.

 

Langley

Take advantage of the nice weather and enjoy theatre in the park. Bard in the Valley celebrates all things Shakespeare by putting on his plays in the park every summer. Most of the performances are free and they run from June 27th until July 29th. Another great option is to check out a few wineries, such as Krause Berry Farms and Chaberton Winery, where you can eat, sample wine and even take art classes.

 

Markham

Go for a stroll in the historic Unionville. It's a picturesque part of the city that has historical buildings, restaurants, ice cream parlours and boutique shops. Grab a coffee and a snack at Chee Organic Bakery and people watch from one of the great patios. If you're craving something sweet, be sure to stop by the Old Firehall Confectionery.

 

Montreal

One of the things Montreal is known for is its food. This summer, consider going on a food tour around the city. This is a great way to discover Montreal, new neighbourhoods and meet new people. Check out the Mile End Tour or the Old Montreal Tour

 

New Westminster

For a really unique experience, go on a Riverboat Cruise down Fraser River. This is your chance to be on an authentic paddlewheeler, and get a small history lesson, while you enjoy the views of the river. You can go on either a lunch tour or a sunset cruise which lasts 2.5 hours and costs $35 for kids and $65 for adults.

 

North York

Escape the concrete jungle and visit one of the many parks in North York. Check out G Ross Lord Park and have a picnic or go for a run. Earl Bales Park is another fantastic option. You can also check out the Aga Khan Museum, which has fascinating collections and exhibitions, but also a beautiful garden which is a great place for a stroll in the summer.

 

Oakville

Garden Music Nights is one of the best summer activities in Oakville. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, listen to Canadian artists perform anything from jazz to country music in Hendrie Park from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. It's free and perfect for all ages.

 

St. Albert

There's no better way to cool off this summer then to go to an outdoor pool in St. Albert. The Grosvenor Outdoor Pool is a great place to relax or have fun with your family. You can also stop by the St. Albert Farmer's Market, which is the perfect place to refuel and enjoy a delicious meal.

 

Toronto

Toronto has so much going on in the summer. You can have a picnic at one of the many parks, including Trinity Bellwoods or High Park or you can visit one of the farmer's markets including Evergreen Brickworks. And if you like to stay active in the summer, grab your bike and cycle, or run, along the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail which goes on for miles!

 

Vancouver

There's no shortage of fun summer activities in Vancouver. Where do we begin? If you like to run and cycle, you can do so along the seawall and enjoy views of the ocean. If hiking is your thing, you have to check out the Grouse Grind Trail which can be a difficult but rewarding hike. And finally, be sure to check out one of the many night markets including Richmond Night Market and North Vancouver Shipyards Market.

 

Waterloo

Head over to Waterloo Public Square and check out the Final Fridays Art Market where local artists show off their work. This is your chance to explore cuisine and arts and learn something new. Final Fridays is on the last Friday of every month! You can also visit St. Jacob's Farmers Market for some yummy food, drinks, arts and crafts.
