The best beaches in Canada

Have you gone to the beach this summer? In Canada, we really have to use up our precious beach days before they turn into snow days. Here are the best Canadian beaches (in cities where we operate) where you can soak up the last days of summer.

Toronto: Woodbine Beach

Woodbine Beach is a 15.2-acre area in downtown Toronto. The beach has an impressive shoreline of soft sand, a vast boardwalk and a nice green area that's perfect for picnicking. It's a great place to enjoy a swim, some beach volleyball, a picnic and a walk or bike ride along the boardwalk.

Calgary: Sikome Lake

Sikome Lake is a beautiful spot featuring a man made beach in Fish Creek Provincial Park. The water is pooled by 3 freshwater wells and maintained by a treatment plant. Be sure to bring your bathing suit and take the plunge.

Edmonton: Terwilliger Park

The beach area of Terwilliger Park is located on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan River. The beach is rocky, but a great place to relax, walk your dog and watch boats on the river.

Montreal: Jean-Doré beach

Jean-Doré beach in Parc Jean-Drapeau is a great place to swim, stay cool and play in Montreal during the summer. It features exceptional water quality and soft sand that is cleaned daily.

Vancouver: English Bay Beach

A great place to walk, bike, swim, picnic and laze the day away, English Bay Beach, also called First Beach, is located on Beach Ave between Gilford St and Bidwell St in downtown Vancouver. The stunning Stanley Park Seawall runs along the east side of the beach offering a great opportunity for recreation here.

Victoria: Willows Park

Willows Park is a great beach option in the Victoria area. It's a developed waterfront park which features a fabulous beach and ample green space, change rooms and washrooms, a concession and tea room, picnic tables, benches, a children’s play area, an esplanade and a walkway.

Winnipeg: Birds Hill Provincial Park Beach

Birds Hill Provincial Park is a popular destination just outside the city. You can walk, cycle and even horseback ride on its trails and it's home to festivals like the Winnipeg Folk Festival. It's the perfect place to hit the beach in the summer and the water is shallow enough to be kid-friendly.

Be sure to visit one of these fabulous Canadian beaches before summer slips away!
