March Break In Your City

March Break is just around the corner and there's so much to do. BentallGreenOak Residential Services wants you to have the best March Break ever in your Canadian city, so we've put together a list of the best March break activities happening across the country.

 

Toronto

If you haven't started planning your March Break week in Toronto yet, now is the time. There are many fun events happening around the city. If you enjoy visual art, check out the Art Gallery of Ontario -- in  particular the Impressionism exhibit featuring works by Monet and Pissarro. The AGO is also hosting 9 days of drop-in fun for families. It's your chance to explore Yayoi Kusama's incredible interactive exhibit. Another good option is the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit at the ROM. In case you'd prefer to spend some time outdoors, you can visit Ontario Place and check out their winter activities before all the snow melts away, or take the kids to Black Creek Pioneer Village for a trip back in time!

 

Vancouver

There's no better place to be than Vancouver for March Break. Start the holidays off with Family Favourite Movies -- an event that lets you enjoy films at 11 am for only $2.99 at selected Cineplex theatres. From March 23rd ro 24th, spend time at Grouse Mountain for 24 Hours of Winter where you and your family can enjoy fun winter sports all day and night! Plus, don't forget to visit CelticFest for St. Patrick's Day activities starting on March 17th.

 

New Westminster

In New Westminster,  spend quality time with your family and check out March Movie Break at Landmark Cinemas. From March 25th to 29th, get everyone together and watch big screen favourites like Smallfoot, Bumblebee and Aquaman. Tickets are only $3 and a portion of the cost is donated to a great cause. Visit Indigo Kids for the ultimate Spring Break Escape. There will be a different activity every day like making clay crafts, cookie keychains and building with LEGO blocks.

 

Langley

In Langley, Spring Break Circus Camp is a fantastic place for your kids to have fun and get some exercise, too.The Circus Lab is offering a camp for kids aged 5 to 16 between March 16th to 20th and March 23rd to 27th. It's their chance to try out juggling, trapeze, aerial silks and more. If your kids love animals, check out the Great Vancouver Zoo from March 23rd to 27th. With a different theme every day, they'll learn about animals from different regions of the world and animal conservation.

 

St. Albert

Get ready for a jam-packed week in St. Albert. Spend the week at the Servus Place where your kids can enjoy week-long camps or daily recreational activities. Check out Spring Break Chefs Junior - the perfect camp for kids who want to get creative in the kitchen, or Spring Break Sport Camp, ideal for those who love games and sports. The fun is on from March 25th ro 29th!

 

Waterloo

In Waterloo, keep your kids busy and entertained at the March Break Camp at The Cedars Worship Centre. The camp is on from March 11th to 15th and runs from 9 am to 4 pm. It includes amazing hands-on activities such as printmaking on fabric, ceramic mosaics, 2D computer design, alcohol ink, art and much more. A single day costs $70 and it's ideal for children ages 7 to 14.

 

Kitchener

There's a lot of great activities in Kitchener over the March Break. Check out the Space Exhibit at the Ken Seiling Museum where they can enjoy daily activities, guided workshops, interactive shows and more. The event is on from March 9th until March 17th!

 

Hamilton

Get ready for a magical March Break in Hamilton. The Children's Museum will transform into a magical school of wizardry where your children can learn all about charms, potions and take care of magical creatures. The event will take place from March 9th to 16th, from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Another good option is Disney On Ice, where you and your family can enjoy the ultimate Disney experience and watch your favourite characters come to life. The shows are on from March 13th to 17th and tickets start at $25.

 

North York
If your kids are creative types, you might want to check out Inventorium 2.0 at the Ontario Science Center in North York. This is the perfect place for them to explore different subjects such as art, science and technology. They will learn everything from coding to design! Be sure to check out the event. It's on now until March 31st.

 

Markham

If you're looking for something to keep your kids busy over the break in Markham, check out Busy Buddies at the Markham Indoor Playground. This is the perfect place for you to relax while your kids run around, play and make new friends. There is something for toddlers and older children, plus a separate dining area for a coffee break, ideal for parents or the whole family.

 

Burlington

A great place to visit with your kids in Burlington is the Spiders Alive! Exhibit at the Royal Botanical Gardens. It's a great opportunity for the entire family to learn more about spider anatomy and history. You'll have the chance to observe live spiders in addition to larger than life models, and a 100 million year old fossil! The exhibit runs until April 14th.

 

Oakville

What's sweeter than a week off from school in Oakville? Checking out the Maple Syrup Festival. Visit Bronte Creek Provincial Park and sample all things maple. Check out the pancake house, take a historical tour or enjoy a few wagon rides. The festivities happen every day over March break, from 9:30 am to 3 pm! For another fun family event, drop in at Gairloch Gardens on March 16th for an afternoon of arts and crafts. The Family Open Studio is suitable for all ages and it's free!

 

Montreal

March Break is a busy time in Montreal and there's a lot going on. The festival of lights, Montréal en Lumière, is a great event to check out. Expect live performances, light installations and free activities at this festival. It runs until March 4th! If you love art, it might be worthwhile to check out Art Souterrain which is a festival devoted to underground art located all across the city. From February 27th to March 7th, the entire family can enjoy The International Children's Film Festival, which features movies from around the world and is appropriate for all ages.

 

Edmonton

There's a lot to do in Edmonton this March Break. For a perfect day with the family, head over to TELUS World of Science for the Animals Inside Out exhibit where you can see over 100 well-preserved specimens of a variety of creatures. If your family is a group of movie buffs, check out the Cineplex Family Favourites event where you can watch movies for $2.99 every Saturday morning at 11 am in big comfy chairs with a big screen TV.

 

Calgary

Get ready for a fun March Break with a variety of different events and activities in Calgary! Explore the fascinating world of the circus at the Telus Spark center's Circus: Science Under the Big Top exhibit. Check out Teen Night at InjaNation Fun and Fitness every Saturday for competitions, contests, trampoline dodgeball and ninja warrior courses, all while listening to a DJ spinning the best beats. If you're looking for something a little different, visit the Fairmont Palliser for the Mad Hatter Afternoon Tea. It's fun, unique and suitable for all ages!
