How to make your apartment a summer paradise

We’re in the middle of a sizzling summer. Are you making the most of it? Your home is so much more than a place to live – it’s your sanctuary. It should be a place that you love to spend time in. Here’s how to make your apartment a summer paradise.

Flower power

Nothing says summer like fragrant fresh-cut flowers. Their vibrant colour and aroma instantly add a summer spirit to any space. Mix and match colours and textures to suit your personal style. Make sure you take some time to stop and smell the roses…or lavender, or lilacs, or peonies, or hyacinth. You get the idea.

Add colour to your decor

If the colour of your fresh flowers fades too quickly, you may want to add some colour that lasts as long as you like. You can add vibrant summer vitality to your apartment with some bright linens, throw pillows or a light and bright area rug

Chill on the couch

Chilling out on the couch on a warm summer night can be relaxing and fun – unless your sofa makes you hot. If you’ve got a leather sofa, or it’s upholstered in heavy fabric, you may find it tougher to chill. A cool, cotton linen slipcover could be just what you’re looking for. You may want to extend this easy, breezy feeling to your window coverings as well. Long, flowy, linen-textured curtains can feel much more airy than dark, heavy drapes.

Keep homemade frozen treats on hand

Is there any better feeling during a sticky summer day than reaching into your freezer for a sweet frozen treat? They’re easy to make and they’re sure to help you lick the summer heat! While you’re in the freezer, you may want to place an empty mug in there, too. Run the mug under cold water and place it, dripping wet, into the freezer. The next beverage you have is going to be even more refreshing! See our recent blog for tips on how to make your own ice cream!

We hope these tips for how to make your apartment a summer paradise help you keep your cool this summer!
