Holiday Markets Near You!

The Holidays are here! There's so much happening in every Canadian city, it's hard not to get excited. BentallGreenOak Residential Services has searched far and wide to discover the best Christmas and holiday markets across Canada that you need to visit.

 

Calgary

Be sure to visit the Noel Indoor Light Park and Christmas Market in Calgary. There's something for everyone including interactive light displays, food trucks, Santa's village, an artisan market, beer and spirits! The market runs until December 31st and tickets start at $15.

 

Edmonton

Winters are cold in Edmonton, but thankfully there is a great indoor Christmas market. Check out the St.Albert Indoor Christmas Market. It's a one-shop stop for everything you need. Buy your produce and presents in the same place, plus enjoy baked goods and other unique items. The market is open every Saturday until December 21st. If you want to see some cool lighting displays, check out Elf Enjoy Light Festival. There will be local performers, food vendors and more!

 

Hamilton and Burlington

If you're in the Burlington and Hamilton area, be sure to visit Handmade Hamilton on December 7th from 11 am to 5 pm. This fabulous little event is the perfect place to get your holiday shopping done as it will feature the wares of 32 makers of jewellery, textile art, ceramics, visual art, accesories, home decor and more. Admission is just $2.

 

Kitchener

Get ready for the Christkindl Market at Kitchener City Hall! There will be 100 vendors indoors and outdoors, choirs, bands and all kinds of delicious food and drink to get you into the holiday spirit. Make this a tradition and come with your friends, family and kids. The market is on from December 4th to December 8th! 

 

Langley

Be sure to check out the Murrayville Holiday Market in Langley, open on December 6th and December 7th! The market is small, but very cozy and intimate. This is the perfect place to meet and mingle with artisans, do a little shopping and enjoy a warm drink. You can also check out the Langley Holiday Market which will be held at the Eureka Masonic Hall on December 14th. Expect baked goods, florals and artisan cheeses.

 

Winnipeg

For a really unique holiday experience, don't miss the Zoo Lights Festival at the Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg. On now until January 5th, visit this winter wonderland that features a market, interactive experiences, nightly entertainment, comfort food and so much more! Grab your favourite hot drink and warm up by the firepit or pay a visit to Santa. You can get a one-day pass for $12, or a three-day pass for $30.

 

Montreal

There are several holiday markets worth checking out in Montreal. The Illumi Village of Lights & Christmas Market is on until January 5th. It features all kinds of vendors, bonfires and entertainment. This magical event is one you won't want to miss! Head over to the Atwater Christmas Village Market every weekend until December 22nd. You'll find 50 small chalet huts selling all kinds of things -- from art to food.

 

New Westminster

In New Westminster, get into the holiday spirit and visit the New West Craft Winter Night Market. Do some gift shopping and visit its 50 vendors!  Listen to good music, try delicious food from River Market restaurants and have fun! The market is open on December 7th from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

 

North York

There's something special happening this December at Lawrence Park Community Centre in North York! Join the fun on December 1st from 12pm to 3pm to browse products from 30 local vendors. Sample hot apple cider and indulge in delicious homemade goodies. Be sure to bring your friends and family to the Christmas Market!

 

Oakville

If you'll be celebrating in Oakville, don't miss the Oakville Christmas Market which will be held on December 1st! There will be hot chocolate, yummy treats, beautiful handcrafted gifts, plus all kinds of decorations to get you into the holiday spirit, in case you weren't excited already. Admission is only $5 and it's open to everyone. Hope to see you there!

 

St. Albert

Don't buy all your gifts in a mall in St. Albert! At the St. Albert's Indoor Christmas Market, you'll find everything you need. Browse the wares of 70 vendors -- ranging from arts and crafts to produce and baking. If you're coming with kids, expect all kinds of activities happening every week until December 21st. Be sure to check it out!

 

Toronto

In the Toronto area, the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District is a must see! From beautiful lights and decorations to cute chalet huts and bonfires, you'll instantly fall in love with the scene and never want to leave. There is so much going on including non-stop entertainment, incredible food vendors, a Nespresso Nordic Garden Boutique and so much more. The market is on until December 22nd. There is an admission fee on the weekends, so if you want to save some money and avoid the crowds, go on a weekday. Another market worth checking out is the One of a Kind Show. It's a massive artisan market featuring Canadian artisans. This 2-week event is worth a visit -- especially if you haven't done your gift shopping yet! There's no doubt you'll find what you're looking for.

 

Vancouver

In Vancouver, there's no better place to be during the Holidays than the Vancouver Christmas Market. Join tourists and locals for this special event featuring 80 huts selling treats, crafts, drinks and yummy German sweets. You can visit the market's Lover's Lane or have a drink at Wunderbar, or maybe a ride on the carousel! Whatever your heart desires this holiday season, you'll surely find it at this fabulous holiday market. The Vancouver Christmas Market is open until December 23rd, so hurry up and don't miss all the winter fun!

 

Waterloo

'Tis the season for Christmas music, twinkle lights and gift giving in Waterloo. Join in the holiday celebrations at the Very Merry Market on December 8th. Find the perfect gift you're looking for, mingle with local artists, meet new friends and enjoy yummy treats. Come alone or bring a friend. Either way, there's something for everyone!
