Easter crafts to make with your kids

Easter is a great time to spend with loved ones, especially kids. BentallGreenOak Residential Services has 4 easy Easter craft ideas that you can make this year at home, with your kids.

Toilet Paper Roll Bunny

Save your toilet paper rolls and use them for a fun Easter craft idea. With just a few props, you can transform them into adorable Easter Bunnies! You're going to need white paint, white cardstock, coloured cardstock, paper rolls, googly eyes, small pom poms, glue, a black sharpie and pipe cleaners. Start by painting the paper rolls white and set them aside to dry. Use the white cardstock to create bunny ears, then do the same with the coloured paper but a little smaller. Glue the ears to the inside of the roll. Next, take the small googly eyes and glue them to the paper roll and twist the pipe cleaners together to create a mustache. Glue those to the paper roll as well. Add a little pom pom to the top of the pipe cleaners to make a nose and draw a mouth with a sharpie. Now you have yourself an Easter bunny! So easy to make and your kids will love making them with you.

Emoji Easter Eggs

If you're looking for a super fun, yet simple, craft idea for your kids, you should try these Emoji Easter Eggs. You only need a few supplies, so it's perfect if you want to keep your expenses low. You'll just need a dozen eggs; yellow, light blue and white acrylic paint; a few small brushes and a black paint pen. Begin by boiling all the eggs and letting them cool. Use the yellow paint to cover the eggs entirely, and if you need to add another coat to get them more vibrant, go wild. Let the paint dry overnight. Once they are ready, use the black pen to draw on the faces. Think about what emoji you want to re-create and just draw it on the eggs. Use the red paint for heart eyes and blue for tears! The options are endless, so just have fun with it!

Pom Pom Easter Chicks

Enjoy your Easter Sunday with the family and make some Pom Pom Easter Chicks! They are adorable and easy to make with just a short supply list. Grab some yellow pom-poms, wiggly eyes, orange pipe cleaners, a small glue gun and scissors. Start by making a beak and tiny feet by cutting the pipe cleaners into small pieces. You're going to need to bend the wire to make it look like feet, so don't cut them too short. Add some glue to the eyes and attach it to the pom poms. Do the same for the feet and beak, and you're done!  Not only will your kids love playing with them, but these tiny chicks make for adorable party favours and Easter basket decorations.

Painted Egg Cartons

Next time you think about throwing away your egg cartons, think again. You can actually use them to make Easter gift boxes. Who would have thought? All you need is a few cartons, paint, brushes and some treats and mini toys to fill the cups. There are no real instructions because the carton is your canvas, however, it might be a good idea to start by painting the carton in one colour and then you can decorate it however you like. Try adding some polka dots, stripes and experiment with different colours. Once the paint is dry, fill the cups with anything from candy and chocolate to jewelry and small candles. This is a fun activity for kids and adults alike and a great gift for virtually anyone!
